3.5 Character Sheet

by on Feb.19, 2009, under dnd

Today I stumbled upon something I made about a year ago.  It’s a DnD 3.5 character sheet.  I made it because I wasn’t satisfied with the default one when playing Grimble, my overleveled gnome wizard.  Wish I published it earlier, as 3.5 is kinda obsolete these days.

Anyway, here’s the character sheet.  Description below the cut.

This sheet is the result of me trying to run an epic character with a standard sheet.  The character had more bonuses than I knew what to do with and certainly more than I could keep track of.  More fields for random bonus types have been added to stats, AC, saves, and skills.  The skill list moved to where attacks used to be and a feats/special abilities list takes the skills list place.   Attacks have been compressed a bit and are at the bottom of the page.  They may not be adequate for martial characters, but I wouldn’t know as I don’t play them.

The back is pretty close to the original version.  I stopped pretending that spells could fit back there and changed that to a notes section.  There are two areas for equipment – one for all items and another for worn items.  The latter includes slots so you don’t have to worry if cloak and robe occupy the same space.

Oh yeah, the description up top is abridged as well.  I felt a little dirty doing this, but really, how often does “skin” matter.  If your character’s eye color matter sit will show up in the back story or the notes on the back page.  All you get up top is name, player, class, level, race, alignment, and deity.

And if anyone is interested, I converted the original pdf to svg and edited that with Inkscape.  It worked, but was inefficient to say the least.

I’d be interested in seeing you post the SVG version.

I couldn’t find the original svgs (I made these sheets a few dozen reformats ago), but here’s what I reconstructed from the pdf.
